What We Believe
We believe in the Trinity
One God, revealed as:
2) Son-Jesus Christ, born of the Virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit, ever present and active in our world today, and
3) the Holy Spirit.
We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God.
The Word teaches us to know the Father through Christ, the Son, with the help of the Holy Spirit
We believe that sin (a willful choice to disobey God’s law) separates us from God.
We believe that Jesus Christ took the punishment for our sins and that
by believing in Christ we can experience and know that
our sins are forgiven and we have the hope of promise of eternal life.
We believe that confession of our sins to Christ, our great High Priest, with a spirit of repentance
(truly regretting our sins and desiring to live in a new way),
Christ makes us a new creature, giving us an inheritance that will never spoil or fade.
We believe that our acts of sin are a result of the sinful nature (a desire to be our own boss)
that is a result of Adam’s sin.
This nature needs to be dealt with by Christ, through
His blood shed on the cross and our decision to submit to His complete leadership in our lives.
We believe in the Church, the community that confesses Jesus Christ as Lord.
God calls the Church to express its life in worship through the preaching of the Word,
the participation in the sacraments, and obedience to Christ.
We believe in two Sacraments (avenues of God’s grace in our life through the Church): Christian baptism,
commanded by our Lord, is a sacrament signifying acceptance into the Faith, and the Lord’s Supper.
We believe that God is able to bring about divine healing through the power, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We believe that Christ will return to this earth, the resurrection of all humankind, and in God’s judgement on all people.
