What We Believe
We believe in the Trinity: One God, Three Persons
One God, revealed as:
1) God the Father, Creator of heaven and earth.
2) God the Son-Jesus Christ-our Savior and Redeemer.
3) God the Holy Spirit, our Comforter and Guide, who fills believers with wisdom and power.
We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God.
The Word teaches us to know the Father through Christ, the Son, with the help of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that sin separates us from God. We believe that Jesus Christ took the punishment for our sins and that by believing in Christ we can experience and know that our sins are forgiven and we have the hope and promise of eternal life. This is the Gospel, the Good News we preach: “Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
We believe that we can live our lives to please God. Through faith in Jesus Christ, by God’s amazing grace, we can say with confidence, “I am a child of God! We are His children” (1 John 3:1), and we encourage everyone with that Good News, “For we are more than victorious; we are overwhelming conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37).
We believe in the Church, the community that confesses Jesus Christ as Lord. This is our greatest confession: “Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father!” And God calls the Church to express its life in worship, celebrating His activity among us, by singing praises, by preaching and studying the Word, by the Sacraments, by serving others and through a faith that leads to obedience to Christ.
We believe in two Sacraments (avenues of God’s grace in our life through the Church): Christian baptism, which signifies acceptance into the Faith; and the Lord’s Supper a.k.a., Communion.
We believe that God is able to bring about divine healing through the power, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe that Christ will return to this earth; we believe in the resurrection of all humankind; we believe that God will bring justice and that all believers are called to proclaim peace and justice, according to the grace we have received, until He returns.
